About Vassily

A long career, then time to make.

Born in 1953, I spent my first 28 years learning, followed by nearly three decades in information technology — beginning as a consultant and gradually taking on management and director roles in international technology companies.

Since retiring in October 2018, I have treated time as an invitation to make things: photography, video, 3D printing, music composition, artificial intelligence, quilting, machine embroidery, sewing, knitting, travel and a great deal of reading. This collection is part of that ongoing curiosity: practical objects made with colour, pattern, humour and care.

There are always more projects waiting, more videos to watch, more techniques to test — and, I admit, a little more grumpiness with every passing year.
